COVID19 Funding

The Universität Hamburg’s Department of International Affairs introduces a new funding program “COVID19 FUNDING”:
Scientists affiliated with the Universität Hamburg could apply for funding of projects connected to COVID-19, in aim to support international collaboration in research, awareness and the fight against COVID19 and its effects. Scientists and scholars of all departments are welcome to apply for funding up to 15,000 € per project.

Science exchange program of the University of Hamburg for PhD students

Universität Hamburg and its partner institutions offer various opportunities to research and teach abroad. Expand your international network and apply for an exchange. Deadline for applications: 31 May 2020: more information


Das Stipendium unterstützt deutsche Doktorand/innen, die zu Beginn ihrer Promotion ein vier- bis sechsmonatiges Forschungsprojekt an einer U.S.-Hochschule planen. Die Stipendienleistungen beinhalten die Finanzierung der Lebenshaltungskosten in Höhe von 1.600 Euro/Monat, der Reisekosten, einer Unkostenpauschale (300 Euro), die Kranken- und Unfallversicherung, die kostenfreie Beantragung des Fulbright J-1 Visums und die Aufnahme in das internationale Fulbright-Netzwerk. Es gibt zwei Bewerbungsfristen: Der 15. September eines Jahres für einen Aufenthaltsbeginn in den USA im April oder Mai des darauffolgenden Jahres. Der 15. März eines Jahres für einen Aufenthaltsbeginn in den USA ab Oktober desselben Jahres. Weitere Informationen hier.

Helmholtz Enterprise (HE)

HE is an internal program for spin-offs from the Helmholtz Association. With up to one million euros a year, it supports researchers from the Helmholtz Association in bringing ideas from their research onto the market. The deadlines for submitting applications are April 15 and October 15 of each year: more information.
